Duties and Responsibilities |
- Serve as Arrupe College's authority on core tutoring principles and proven best practices in the delivery of tutoring services at the collegiate level.
- Manage the recruitment, selection, training, scheduling, standards, and evaluation of student peer tutors in designated subject areas.
- Collaborate with faculty to hire and train tutors in content areas, ensure they are knowledgeable about timely course content, and are prepared to assist with course-specific tasks, assignments, and upcoming exams.
- Determine tutoring interventions and service delivery most appropriate for the student body, including but not limited to individualized tutoring support, supplemental instruction, small group tutoring, online service delivery, and/or utilization of third-party vendors or products.
- Research and stay abreast of current trends in tutoring; evaluate and make timely recommendations for potential implementation.
- Produce data-driven reports on a scheduled timeline to track usage and effectiveness of tutoring services.
- Effectively promote tutoring services to the student body and student-facing institutional partners.
- Develop a library of self-directed, user-driven learning resources that students can utilize outside of tutoring space.
- Thoughtfully address needs and concerns related to tutoring operations from all stakeholders
- Make appropriate referrals for students in distress to faculty, advisors, and Office of Student Services.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience |
Master's degree in higher education or student affairs administration, college student development, or a related field; knowledge of learning theory and academic support strategies. |
Qualifications |
- Master's Degree in Education, College Student Personnel, or related field
- Minimum 2-3 years of direct experience tutoring in a secondary school or collegiate institutional environment and/or managing tutoring programs with part-time student employees
- Direct experience working prominently with students of color, first-generation college students, and/or multilingual learners
- Demonstrated Competency analyzing and reporting on large data sets
- Knowledge of effective student success, academic support, and retention strategies
- Proven ability to build consensus and coordinate programs and services involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
