The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Mental Health Operations Senior Specialist is an integral part of ensuring Alumni and Family Support Members are connected to resources that promote mental health, while removing barriers to care, and acting as the conduit to the collaborative efforts of internal teammates and external WWP partners. The Mental Health Operations Senior Specialist supports WWP's Mental Health Continuum of Support, to include both internal programs as well as WWP-supported external programs and resources. This role provides operational support to all WWP mental health network leadership through continuous program evaluation and operational guidance, including analysis of programmatic Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and service delivery metrics, as well as facilitating communication across the network to align WWP's efforts to meet the mental health needs of warriors and families.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as conduit for communication and operational support across WWP's network of mental health programs and services to ensure streamlined communication and overall collaboration to align efforts.

  • Collaborate internally and externally across all programs to ensure adequate awareness of WWP mental and brain health service offerings, as well as keeping WWP's mental health teams well informed about other WWP-supported programs and resources, including community partnerships and grantees.

  • Consolidate, evaluate, and improve processes to reduce variance and ensure consistency among external vendors and internal staff.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for WWP's mental health operational teams, facilitating collaboration with supporting teams such as IT, Mission Data & Insights, and Marketing/Media teams.

  • Manage and maintain operations manuals, onboarding and training documents, and other electronic databases for Triage Services and Veteran Wellness Alliance Check In Connectors, and support other mental health operational teams in creating, managing and maintaining their own respective materials.

  • Lead operational initiatives and projects for the network of mental health programs. Document and track statuses of projects.

  • Identify innovative and strategic opportunities for programmatic development and growth of the network.

  • Manage macro-level issues by identifying trends in access to care by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Conduct internal and external program briefs.

  • Provide strategic guidance to WWP internal staff and external independent contractors and vendors on resources for brain injury and mental health disorders necessary for adequate triage of services based on warrior needs.

  • Provide oversight and development of training materials and operational processes for both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor for operational efficiency of WWP's mental health programming, strategic initiatives, and partnerships.

  • Attend and actively participate in required training and/or meetings, including but not limited to New Teammate Orientation, WWP Cares, ASIST Suicide Prevention training, Leadership training, culture/team based training, or departmental huddles.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

  • Strong understanding of psychological and mental health issues.

  • Adept understanding of military and veteran issues, and the emotional impact of combat, e.g., brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and combat stress. Demonstrated understanding of the challenges faced by warriors affected by trauma.

  • Strong working understanding of WWP programs and other resources available for families and Warriors.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills. Effectively manage multiple priorities and complete assignments and meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, demanding working environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to analyze data and discern trends.

  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule to meet warrior needs.

  • Proficiency with Salesforce and Microsoft Office programs, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

EXPERIENCE

Requirements

  • Five years of experience providing mental and brain health programming or adult mental health focused case management to adults in support of their psychological well-being and readjustment.

  • Five years of experience working with Salesforce.

  • Five years of experience working with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, or other project management application.

  • Two years of experience working with the military and/or veteran community.

Preferences

  • Three years of experience conducting mental health intake assessments.

  • One year of project management experience.

  • Experience in leadership and/or facilitation roles.

EDUCATION

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, mental health counseling, human services, social work, rehabilitation counseling, holistic/healthcare interventions, organizational effectiveness, or related field.

Preferences

  • Master's degree or advanced professional certification in psychology, mental health counseling, human services, social work, rehabilitation counseling, holistic/healthcare interventions, organizational effectiveness, or related field.

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURE

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain ASIST Certification within 1 year of hire.

Preferences

  • Salesforce Associate Certification.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification.

  • ASIST Certification.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • General office environment; temperature controlled.

  • Up to 20% travel.

For Colorado Applicants: The estimated hiring range for this position is between $79,027 - $98,784 annual base salary,subject to a candidate's combination of experience, qualifications, and credentials. This position may also be eligible for an annual performance incentive.

For San Diego, California and Washington state Applicants: The estimated hiring range for this position is between $86,553 - $108,192 annual base salary,subject to a candidate's combination of experience, qualifications, and credentials. This position may also be eligible for an annual performance incentive.

For Washington, D.C. Applicants: The estimated hiring range for this position is between $90,316 - $112,896 annual base salary,subject to a candidate's combination of experience, qualifications, and credentials. This position may also be eligible for an annual performance incentive.

For New York Applicants: The estimated hiring range for this position is between $94,080 - $117,600 annual base salary,subject to a candidate's combination of experience, qualifications, and credentials. This position may also be eligible for an annual performance incentive.
