About the Role

We are seeking a Sr. Manager, EHSS (East) to support our bakeries across the U.S. and Canada. In this critical role, you will ensure Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) compliance while driving a culture of safety excellence, risk reduction, and continuous improvement. You will partner with bakery leadership to strengthen EHSS programs, reduce injuries and incidents, maintain regulatory compliance, and build a proactive, employee-led safety culture across multiple sites. This position requires regular travel (25%) across assigned bakeries.

Compensation

Salary Range: $110,000-$150,000

Core Accountabilities (What You'll Be Doing)




  • Partner with Bakery Leadership to drive cultural change, regulatory compliance, and continuous safety and environmental improvements.



  • Champion a zero-accident safety mentality and lead initiatives that strengthen employee engagement.



  • Develop, integrate, and manage EHSS programs, policies, and procedures that meet regulatory and corporate standards.



  • Lead and support environmental and safety audits; identify hazards and recommend mitigation strategies.



  • Maintain and improve environmental compliance programs (e.g., PSM, SWPPP, Air, Water, Waste).



  • Monitor federal, state, provincial, and local regulations to ensure compliance, including experience with agencies such as SCAQMD, SWRCB, CARB, CUPA, DTSC, and Canadian equivalents.



  • Build relationships that support employee-led safety processes and team-based engagement.



  • Oversee development and coaching of site EHS personnel across multiple locations.



  • Support accident and near-miss investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective action closure.



  • Track, analyze, and report EHSS performance metrics and trends.



  • Partner with bakery leadership on workers' compensation case management.



  • Travel to bakeries (25%) across the U.S. and Canada to provide on-site support.





Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)




  • 7+ years of comprehensive EHSS experience in a manufacturing environment (food industry preferred).



  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).



  • Strong understanding of U.S. and Canadian EHSS regulations.



  • Experience supporting multiple facilities across different regions.



  • Ability to work around mechanical equipment, variable weather, and environmental exposure.



  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.





Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)




  • M.S. in Occupational Safety or related discipline.



  • Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, or Canadian equivalents.



  • Experience in both U.S. and Canadian safety programs and audits.



  • Experience leading multi-site EHSS teams or initiatives.
