Job Description


  • Serve as a Program Management/Acquisition Analyst supporting the 31st Sustainment Squadron (31 STS): This Mission Delta 31's focus is to continue to evolve, address challenges posed by anti-satellite weapons and cyber threats, while working to ensure that PNT services remain robust and reliable for U.S. military operations. 31 STS provides sustainment support, delivering updates and modifications to improve operational capabilities of fielded systems supporting high-level enterprise acquisition activities. In this position, you will leverage your technical acquisition expertise to provide program management within a multi-program portfolio, focusing on cost, schedule, and performance. You also may be called upon to mentor and provide guidance to more junior analysts supporting program managers on assigned projects across the 31st STS.


  • Program Development & Integration: Lead the planning, development, and coordination of enterprise-level programs to meet United States Space Force (USSF) mission objectives and enhance organizational performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Interface with internal and external stakeholders, including command leadership, staff, interagency partners, and contractors, to ensure program alignment, transparency, and integrated execution.
  • Risk Identification & Mitigation: Proactively identify programmatic and technical risks; develop and implement mitigation strategies to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track program milestones and key performance indicators (KPIs); develop data-driven assessments and prepare comprehensive reports for leadership at the MAJCOM, OSD, and Congressional levels.
  • Communication & Executive Reporting: Prepare and deliver high-impact briefings, white papers, and decision support materials to senior leadership, articulating program status, risks, and critical issues.
  • Acquisition Forecasting & Alignment: Develop and maintain detailed acquisition forecasts; identify schedule, funding, or performance disconnects and recommend corrective actions.
  • Data Collection & Analytics: Gather, assess, and present programmatic data-including cost, schedule, technical performance, and Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics-to inform leadership decision-making.
  • Documentation & Information Management: Maintain acquisition databases and digital repositories to ensure accuracy, audit readiness, and knowledge continuity.
  • Contract & Budget Oversight: Interpret and analyze contract terms, track budget execution, and provide actionable insight into funding profiles, contract performance, and execution risk.
  • Acquisition Strategy Compliance: Review and validate key program documentation (e.g., Acquisition Strategy, Acquisition Program Baseline) to ensure alignment with USSF and DoD policy directives.
  • System & Data Synchronization: Ensure synchronization and accuracy of program data across multiple acquisition and financial systems (e.g., DAVE, DEAMS, DAMIR, EVM-CR).

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in acquisition/program management, with at least 3 years in space acquisition programs.
  • Strong understanding of DoD acquisition policies, procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze acquisition data and generate reports and recommendations for senior leaders.
  • Experience supporting program offices or portfolio management in a military or defense contractor environment.


Education:



  • Master's degree in Management, Business, Acquisition, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Operations Research.


Desired Qualifications:



  • Experience with the Comprehensive Cost and Requirement (CCaR) System.
  • Experience with acquisition documentation, including Statements of Work (SOW), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), and acquisition strategies.
  • Proficiency in using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Power BI, Microsoft business intelligence (BI) tool
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.



Special Requirements:



  • May be required to travel to support mission requirements.

Salary information below is a general guide only. Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as business and market considerations.

Salary Range:$130,000 - $160,000

Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands This is largely a sedentary role mostly sitting; however, some filing maybe required . This would require the ability to move files, or boxes with file data, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary, ability to lift up to 40lbs.

Mental Demands: Reading; communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control and professionalism.
