Overview:

Sentara RMH is hiring a Interventional Technologist II for Interventional Radiology department. This is a Full Time, Day shift in Harrisonburg, VA! Schedule is 5 Eight-hour shifts from 7a to 330p Monday to Friday. Call Requirements are 2 day per week from 330P to 7A and every other weekend rotation.

Must be within 30 minutes of the facility for on call requirements.

The IR department is a shared lab with vascular surgeons and radiology department. Procedures ranging from endovascular to assisting with open vascular procedures. The IR Tech can exp around 4 procedures per day. This is a well-organized 12-person unit including RN's and Interventional Techs with a focus on education and professional growth. Nephrostomy Tube placement, Kyphoplasty placement, drainage placement and management, Dialysis cath, and replacement, fistula management, angiography with vascular surgeons in Angio suite and Operating room, Endovascular repair of aortic aneurism and carotid stint placement.

The Interventional Technologist II performs complex invasive interventional procedures such as diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or interventional procedures under the direction of a qualified physician while adhering to interventional and procedural policies and protocols: provides patient and family education; operates equipment safely; completes department documentation; maintains all equipment to be clean and operational; maintains adequate supply of inventory for performing examinations; participates in departmental performance improvement activities.

Education

• Trade School Graduate required

Certification/Licensure

• BLS required

• One of the following Certifications required: ARRT Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) - American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), ARRT Radiography (R) ARRT Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)

Experience

• 1 year of experience preferred

• Invasive procedure experience

• Vascular experience preferred

• Operating Room Radiology and Sterile Field Experience

• Team Work oriented and motivated to learn preferred
