The Opportunity:

Roche Diagnostics is looking for a PHCS Partnering Director to lead the pharma partnership' business

development activities for the Core Lab Customer Area (Immunoassays) and is accountable for Roche's Global Personalized Healthcare Solutions revenue related to certain segments of the Core Lab portfolio. Customers are pharmaceutical companies who partner with Roche Diagnostics for their pharma services and companion or stand-alone diagnostic projects. We are seeking a highly motivated, collaborative individual with a strong drive to succeed. The successful candidate in this role will be responsible for identifying, driving and expanding relationships with new and existing pharma partners. This role is also responsible for new business development and developing strategic plans to create a qualified pipeline of opportunities to drive sustainable revenue and growth. This role will report to the Head of the PHCS Pharma Partnering team at Roche Diagnostics Solutions and will be expected to work collaboratively across the organization to

achieve results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads business development for the Pharma Partnering Core Labs segment, contracts management, and pipeline management activities for the Core Lab Customer Area portfolio that serves customers located globally.

  • Plays a key role being a part of the Pharma Partnering team in achieving the overall business objectives.

  • Establishes objectives and develops business strategies needed to increase the penetration of external (i.e. non-Roche Group) biopharmaceutical accounts.

  • Develops corporate alliances in conjunction with the company's strategic plans and implementation programs.

  • Develops, maintains and executes a strong pipeline of new business and qualified leads across all different diagnostic testing modalities.

  • Maintains a good understanding of the trends in the pharmaceutical industry and how they impact the companion diagnostic business, leverages these insights to support the strategic plan of the organization.

  • Conducts research on emerging business trends and economic requirements of the pharmaceutical industry and researches, screens and recommends key target companies for business alliance.

  • Works with Project and CAP/CLIA Lab leadership to ensure projects can be fully supported and delivered on quality and time.

  • Closely collaborates with all functions (e.g. legal, regulatory, development) to align our partnership activities with the capabilities of the organization.

  • Works closely with the PHCS Lifecycle Team on the partnership strategy ensuring alignment with the product development and commercial strategy.

  • Sets organizational structure and develops tools and processes to drive efficiency and sustainability of the business.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Who you are:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, Business, Marketing, or a related field required; Master of Business Administration or other advanced degree preferred

Experience:

  • 10 years of experience in business development, partnering, or, sales fields, with a strong emphasis on strategic partnerships and companion diagnostics in the immunoassay space, particularly in the fields of fibrosis, immunology, and/or inflammation

  • Proven track record in achieving both company and individual goals through forging long-term effective partnerships, including pre-contract negotiations and post-contract alliance management

  • Experience with assessing companion diagnostic opportunities for strategic fit with corporate plans and conducting market assessments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of global pharmaceutical and in vitro diagnostic markets, including product development strategies, regulatory environments, and commercialization processes

  • Deep understanding of immunoassay technologies

  • Extensive knowledge of immunology, fibrosis, and inflammation (highly preferred)

  • Ability to quickly identify market opportunities and develop strategic plans to capitalize on them

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong capability to resolve problems collaboratively

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, achievement-oriented environment

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, coach, and develop team members

Travel Requirements: Based on business needs (estimated 25%).

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Tucson, AZ is between $153,200 and $284,600. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
