Position Overview:

The Director of Commercial Finance plays a critical role in aligning Avis Budget Group's commercial agreements with our overall strategic and financial objectives. As Director of Commercial Finance, you will be the finance gatekeeper for all B2B and B2B2C sales contracts-ensuring deals are structured for maximum profitability and minimal risk. You'll lead an experienced team, with room to expand to meet the needs of new requirements. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you'll partner closely with Sales, Legal, IT and Operations to review and approve contracts, drive adoption of our new transaction-level profitability tool, and deliver the financial insights that power our growth.

What you'll do:
  • End-to-End Contract Oversight
    • Serve as financial oversight on all B2B and B2B2C sales contracts, including pricing, payment terms, rebates and volume commitments
    • Drive the adoption of a new approval governance framework, drawing on recommendations from a recently completed internal review
    • Maintain and continuously improve standardized review checklists, approval workflows and financial/profitability guidelines
  • Profitability Analytics & Tool Adoption
    • Be a key stakeholder in the rollout and user adoption of our transaction-level profitability platform-define use cases, lead testing and continuous improvement, train finance and commercial teams
    • Build and maintain financial models to analyze deal-level margins, cost-of-sale and ROI on promotions or incentives.
    • Partner with Sales and Operations to diagnose margin erosion or upside opportunities in our B2B and B2B2C channels
  • Financial Forecasting & Reporting
    • Contribute to the monthly revenue forecast for commercial contracts; drive variance-to-plan analysis and actionable recommendations
    • Produce executive dashboards and board-ready slide decks in Tableau and PowerPoint, highlighting key deal metrics by customer segment, geographic region, and other operational KPIs
  • Team Leadership & Process Excellence
    • Manage and mentor a Sr. Manager and team of analysts; recruit an additional analyst to strengthen capacity
    • Define objectives and KPIs for your team, coach on best practices around Salesforce analytics, SQL querying, and Tableau visualization
    • Drive process improvements around contracting, pricing approvals, and revenue recognition-collaborating with IT to integrate CPQ enhancements where needed
  • Cross-Functional Partnership
    • Act as finance liaison with Sales Operations, Legal, IT and Accounting to ensure seamless deal hand-off, compliance, and on-time execution
    • Communicate complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders; influence commercial strategy with data-driven insights.
You should apply if you bring:
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in commercial/sales finance, travel industry experience a plus
  • Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting or Business; MBA or CPA strongly preferred
  • Proven track record reviewing and approving complex B2B and B2B2C contracts
  • Hands-on expertise with Salesforce reporting, SQL querying, and Tableau dashboards
  • Strong financial modeling skills and deep understanding of transaction-level profitability analysis
  • Exceptional communicator with the ability to influence senior executives and cross-functional teams
  • Prior experience driving adoption of new finance systems or analytical tools
