Salary Range: $50,000.00 to $59,000.00

Main purpose of the role:

To support Product Development and Engineering with validation testing of bearings and components in the test laboratory.

Key accountabilities:

*

Perform test setups/teardowns on laboratory test equipment

*

Build test assemblies according to drawings and test specifications

*

Perform measurements on test samples

*

Inspect and document condition of samples after testing

*

Instrument samples with thermocouples, load cells, accelerometers

*

Monitor test and maintain log sheets

*

Assist with identification, handling, and storage of laboratory samples

*

Perform maintenance on test equipment

*

Participate in EHS activities

*

Support building facility activities (shipping/receiving, general maintenance, etc.)

*

Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge and competence requirements:

*

Strong computer skills, Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams

*

Mechanical aptitude

*

People skills

*

Organizational skills ability to multi-task

*

Knowledge of basic hand tools, torque wrenches and measurement tools

*

Knowledge of dial indicators, micrometers, and basis metrology measurements

*

Basic knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems

*

Basic machine shop skills, lathe, bandsaw, grinders

*

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings

*

Ability to work on feet for long periods and lift to 40 lbs.

*

Ability to bend, kneel and work in tight spaces

*

Ability to work in an environment with oils, occasional oil fumes and high and low frequency noise levels

Education requirements:

*

High School Diploma

*

Technical trade school training or associate degree at a university level is preferred

Work experience:

*

Minimum of two years of experience in a testing laboratory or related technical field

*

Knowledge of calibration and instrumentation a plus
