Description
Summary: The Administrative Residency is a custom-tailored, one-year (or another specified timeframe), educational field experience. The student will have the opportunity to apply theories, concepts, principles, and techniques learned through their university program. Along with fulfilling the responsibilities to the university, the Resident will develop practical understanding, leadership, judgment, and problem-solving skills in the healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
- Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Fulfill all academic requirements from the university.
- Understand organizational administrative structure, purpose, history, departmental organization, programs, environment, and governance.
- Department rotations.
- Participate in administrative, department, and medical staff meetings (to an appropriate degree).
- Understand the clinical professionals' roles in the delivery of health services fully and develop the rapport-building skills essential to success in administration.
- Understand the impact of the organization in the surrounding community.
- Studies, investigations, projects, and other responsible assignments assigned by the Preceptor.
- Must be knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and email systems.
- Must have communication, interpersonal, discretion, and customer service skills.
- Be able to work independently, retain flexibility, and maintain composure under pressure.
- Maintain schedules and meet deadlines.

Experience
- Didactic education related to MHA, MBA, MPA, or other graduate degree.
