Location 10260 McKee Road, Collegedale TN 37315 Schedule Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (flexible hours required to meet business needs) Onsite Job Summary McKee Foods is seeking a skilled Power Systems Engineer to join the Corporate Electrical Engineering team. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain SKM power system model used to document the power system, set protective devices, and calculate fault and incident energy levels for equipment and PPE selection
- Responsible for the design of facilities / systems power distribution infrastructure to support current and projected future loads
- Interface with Electric Utility for Rate, Interruption resolution and system reliability
- Support Plant Electrical Maintenance departments with power system operation and restoration
- Maintain power system PME meter server to provide real time and historical meter information for major power system loads
- Monitor and improve system reliability, load flow, and power quality
- Develop and implement energy management strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices
- Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams for electrical system upgrades and troubleshooting
- Assist in the selection and integration of new power systems equipment
- Conduct failure analysis and recommend corrective actions
- Stay current with advancements in power systems engineering and emerging technologies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 4-6+ years of experience in power systems engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code
- Strong understanding of electrical power distribution, protective relaying, and load management
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM, EasyPower)
- Experience with industrial automation and PLCs is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills and a team player
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed PE (Professional Engineer)
- 8+ years of power systems engineering experience
- Experience with Modicon and Allen Bradley PLC programming
- Experience with Ignition HMI Software
- Experience with AB Panel View
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical design software
