What you will do
Johnson Controls ACVS (Access Control Video Surveillance) has an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and visionary Cloud Development Architect to lead the design and implementation of end-to-end cloud solutions. This role will be responsible for defining architectural best practices, developing proof of concepts (PoCs), and guiding cross-functional teams in delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud-native applications. We do prefer candidates who can commute onsite to our Westford, MA, facility but this could be remote for the right candidate.

How you will do it

  • Design End-to-End Cloud Solutions: Architect scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native systems tailored to business needs.

  • Establish Cloud Best Practices: Define and enforce architectural standards, design patterns, and development guidelines.

  • Lead Proof of Concepts (PoCs): Build and evaluate prototypes to validate new technologies and solution approaches.

  • Guide Development Teams: Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and support across cross-functional engineering teams.

  • Implement DevOps & Automation: Integrate CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to streamline deployments.

  • Ensure Security & Compliance: Apply cloud security principles and ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational standards.

  • Optimize Performance & Cost: Monitor and fine-tune cloud workloads for efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Translate business requirements into technical solutions and align with enterprise strategy.

What you will need
Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in software development with at least 5 years in a cloud architecture role.

  • Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-native technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, serverless, containers).

  • Proven experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Strong understanding of DevOps principles and technologies.

  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes).

  • Understand cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks

  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

  • Proven experience designing and implementing scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions.
