Aon is looking for a Risk Management Associate

Exciting opportunity to join the Risk Management team of Aon's Real Estate Client located in Irvine CA. The role is outsourced, reporting to the Client's Vice President, primary responsibility will be to assist in administration of the company's day to day Risk Management and Insurance Program. Responsible for oversight of Client's insurance coverage including property, casualty, auto and environmental, maintenance of statement of values and insurance schedules and capturing information for renewals.

Work Style: On Site 5 days per week

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide insurance support across property, casualty, and environmental lines, including policy coverage interpretation.
  • Coordination of incident and insurance claims reporting and management.
  • Assist in insurance and surety bond procurement and renewals.
  • Preparation of insurance budgets.
  • Administration of tenant and vendor insurance compliance and certificate tracking system.
  • Assist Operations teams with interpreting lease requirements and compliance questions.
General Requirements
  • Familiarity with real estate and insurance terminology
  • Prior experience with property management insurance and/or accounting
  • Expert user of Microsoft Excel and proficiency in Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to interact optimally with team members at all levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytic skills with the ability to reliably balance priorities and workflow.
  • Experience working independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong teammate.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience to include real estate and insurance industry experience.
  • Bachelor's degree; advanced degree and concentration in risk management, insurance, or law a plus
  • Industry Certification (ARM, CPCU, CRM)
Day to Day Responsibilities

This role supports the administration of the client's Risk Management and Insurance program, including:

  • Provide insurance support across property, casualty, and environmental lines, including policy coverage interpretation.
  • Assist in insurance renewal process by preparing insurance applications and coverage exposure schedules and coordinating submission of data and timely updates to broker teams.
  • Collaborate with Development Managers and Joint Venture partners on insurance needs and renewals.
  • Prepare flood insurance applications and procurement of flood coverage as needed, and track policy expirations and renewals.
  • Monitor and track all property-level invoice payments and refunds to ensure they tie to the overall master program costs.
  • Assist in annual budgeting, reforecasting, and insurance expense reconciliation processes.
  • Preparation of insurance budgets for property acquisitions including insurance valuation and premium schedules and entering into the company's risk management information system (Archipelago).
  • Administration of tenant and vendor insurance compliance and certificate tracking system (Jones), including preparation and distribution of compliance reports. Assist Operations teams with interpreting lease requirements and compliance questions.
  • Prepare monthly Vacancy Report for property management review and tracking of security measures in place, ensuring compliance with established policies.
  • Procure construction and utility surety bonds, monitor for reduction and cancellation dates, and coordinate invoice payments and refunds.
  • Insurance claims administration Including reviewing incident reports, submitting claims, and coordinating data and settlement with adjusters. Monitor and log receipt of claim payments, verify accuracy of amounts from each insurer, and communicate status to Accounting and Operations teams.
  • Maintain Inadvertent Check Receipt Log to track handling of payments to incorrect payees.
  • Management of various forms of documentation including insurance policies, endorsements, invoices, applications, and correspondence.
  • Review insurer risk engineering reports, coordinate responses on deficiencies and recommendations with engineering and property management teams, and track status in Salesforce.
  • Assist with questions from lenders and others regarding LBA's insurance policy terms and coverage and develop data schedules as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Risk Management Consultant to streamline administrative processes and improve productivity.
  • Prepare master contracts, purchase orders and other agreements as needed to support emergency response services and environmental investigation and remediation projects.
  • General administrative coordination including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, compiling reports, creating presentations, obtaining signatures, scheduling travel, submitting expense reports, and completing other tasks as needed.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position is $66,000 to $70,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted to reflect applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
