The Position

Pharma Technical Development Data and Digital (PTDD) is a global team helping to drive excellence in technical development through seamless data flow, culture & upskilling, and analytics & insights. Our focus is advancing data and digital capabilities that will achieve efficiencies, support robust process/product design and speed to patients, while championing a digital mindset across our business. PTDD is responsible for a broad range of services for systems and support across small and large molecule (synthetics and biologics) technical development, device development, analytical sciences, business operations and clinical supply chain. We enable digital integration of data and information across product advancement lifecycle paired with data analytics and intelligent automation, end to end lifecycle support/enhancement for automation, lab information management systems, data engineering/data science to support PTD functions. We collaborate closely with key partners including Ix, Research and Early Development (pRED / gRED), PT Cell and Gene Therapy (PTC), PT Digital Analytics and Operational Excellence (PTE), and other PT functions.

The Opportunity:

As the Leader of Portfolio Management and Performance, you will be instrumental in optimizing our digital product portfolio. You'll work hand-in-hand with key stakeholders in PTDx, PTE, and our digital product teams to implement robust portfolio management practices and enhance performance tracking. This role will be critical in guiding strategic investments, ensuring our digital initiatives directly support business priorities and generate tangible value. Additionally, you will:

  • Maintain a strategic and accurate view of the PTD digital product portfolio, including initiative status, impact, and maturity

  • Support portfolio planning and prioritization activities in alignment with PTDD, PTDx, PTE, Finance, and Ix objectives and resources

  • Manage the full project lifecycle and engage with governance as needed to ensure smooth operations

  • Define and maintain KPIs to track progress, impact, and resource utilization across the portfolio

  • Prepare and continuously improve regular and ad hoc portfolio reports and dashboards for key stakeholders

  • Analyze portfolio trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement

  • Collaborate closely with product leads and stakeholders to enhance portfolio alignment, visibility, and strategic communication efforts

Who You Are:

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in life sciences, data science, business, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., M.S., MBA, Ph.D.) is a plus

  • You have at least 8 years of experience in biopharma, preferably with exposure to digital initiatives, portfolio management, or strategic planning

  • You possess proficiency in portfolio reporting tools and data analysis platforms

  • You have strong skills in building presentations and reports for senior audiences

  • You are a strategic, analytical, and collaborative professional with a passion for enabling transformation through data and digital

  • You possess experience in portfolio or program management with strong business acumen and a focus on connecting digital initiatives to business outcomes

  • You are comfortable working in matrixed environments and influencing without formal authority

  • You are a skilled communicator able to synthesize complex information into clear, impactful insights and recommendations

  • You are curious, adaptable, and eager to grow in the evolving digital space

Preferred Experience:

  • Project management, CMC experience, and business acumen

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $151,800 (min) - $216,800 (mid) - $281,800 (max). Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed in this link.
