Primary Responsibilities:
HDR's Computational Designer will take responsibility for work in all phases of the architectural process. Duties include: evaluating, selecting and applying architectural techniques, procedures, and modifications to architectural construction documents; applying computational design and research methodologies into building design and horizontal infrastructure projects, as needed; responsibility for integrating computational design and research methodology with attention to architectural design analysis, generative iterations and computational strategies; developing new computational tools and workflows to facilitate architectural design exploration, automated analysis, and advanced data management; developing parametric models and computational workflows for use in architectural projects; performing architectural assignments with general instruction from the Project Architect or Project Manager regarding the expected results; writing specifications covering architectural matters; performing code reviews; working directly with owners/clients to select and recommend procedures; and assisting Project Architects, other Architectural Project/Design Coordinators, and Technicians as needed in all phases of the architectural process.
