The Tax Director role is primarily responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the company's income tax and sales and use tax functions.

Job Summary

This role is primarily responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the company's income tax and sales and use tax functions. This includes providing strategic direction, oversight, and of tax compliance, planning, and reporting across federal, state, local, and international jurisdictions. The position requires strong leadership to coordinate cross-functional efforts, ensure accurate and timely filings, and maintain compliance. Additionally, the role serves as the company's primary liaison with tax authorities and external auditors on all tax-related matters.

Education and/or Experience



  • Minimum four-year Accounting degree; with Tax emphasis is preferred
  • Minimum five years experience in income tax and sales tax areas.
  • Experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or billing is beneficial
  • CPA license preferred



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Working knowledge of corporate income tax and sales tax code, rules and regulations.
  • Ability to research tax issues and provide documented conclusions and recommendations to Company Management.
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles as it relates to income tax, sales tax, banking, accounts receivable and general ledger accounts.
  • Must be proficient with computers and various types of software programs.
  • Must be a self-starter, well organized, energetic, and detail oriented with strong interpersonal and problem resolution skills.
  • This individual must work well in a team environment and have the ability to develop processes to enhance position efficiency.
  • Other requirements include efficiency at multi-tasking and the ability to handle high-pressure situations while meeting deadlines.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Manages the tax accounting functions of the company including preparation of Federal Income Tax Return and K1's, preparation of State and Local Income Tax Returns
  • Research income tax issues that affect the company and/or its shareholder(s).
  • Reviews financial accounts and records and ensures federal, state and local, and foreign tax liabilities are determined in accordance with prescribed rates, laws and regulations.
  • Ensures compliance with periodic tax payments, information reporting and other tax authority requirements.
  • Sales Taxes including reporting, filing, and remitting sales tax to state and local governments and audit support as well as sales and use tax compliance
  • Maintain and Approve all the various sales tax exempt customer certificates and global registrations
  • File and pay tax liability to various government and states

  • Physical environmental factors of this position include those found in typical business office environment or home office environment.
  • Requires use of general office equipment and personal computer equipment.
  • Ability to travel. Various means of travel may be required, including auto and air travel.

  • May be required to work irregular schedules including but not limited to as applicable: Nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and/or overtime.
