Senior Manager, Data Science

We have an opportunity for a Senior Manager, Data Science to join our Data Science team in Santa Clara, CA reporting to the VP of Engineering. In this pivotal role, you will you will spearhead our AI and LLM-driven initiatives. You will manage a team focused on developing and deploying advanced AI/ML models into production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate solutions into our cloud-first networking and security products. You will also play a pivotal role in shaping AI-driven enhancements leveraging generative AI and large language models (LLMs). Be a Contributor - What You'll Do



  • Define and execute the strategic roadmap for AI and generative AI initiatives, emphasizing high-impact projects and robust ML system design.
  • Guide and develop your team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and adherence to ML best practices
  • Oversee full lifecycle ML projects, from data exploration and feature engineering to model development, validation, and scalable deployment, employing MLOps best practices
  • Prototype cutting-edge solutions, applying LLMs such as GPT models for intelligent threat detection, anomaly analysis, automated support insights, and other innovations
  • Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Security, and domain experts to integrate AI-driven features addressing real-world challenges
  • Ensure robust deployment and performance monitoring of models within Infoblox products and cloud services, including AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Stay current with emerging AI trends, tools, and methodologies, introducing beneficial innovations to maintain competitiveness
  • Promote data-driven decision-making across the organization, collaborating with senior leadership to leverage AI for strategic business value



Be Prepared - What You Bring



  • 15+ years of experience in data science or related fields, with at least 3 years leading data science teams, plus proven leadership and mentorship skills
  • Solid Python programming skills and experience with big data frameworks like Spark, Kafka and deploying impactful ML models
  • Deep knowledge of ML algorithms, statistical modeling, generative AI, and LLMs; NLP and neural network familiarity are beneficial
  • Proven experience deploying ML models in cloud environments, such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, and familiarity with MLOps practices like CI/CD, MLflow, and Kubernetes
  • Understanding of networking and cybersecurity; experience in network security, threat intelligence, or cloud networking is highly desirable
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, or related field; master's degree or Ph.D. preferred
  • Excellent skills in articulating technical concepts to diverse stakeholders and driving cross-functional collaboration
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for innovation and solving complex problems creatively
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver impactful projects from concept to production



Be Successful - Your Path

First 90 Days: Immerse in our culture, connect with mentors (Blox Buddies), and map the systems and meet with key stakeholders that rely on your work. Discuss and create short/long term goals.

Six Months: Define and initiate execution of AI/ML roadmap, deliver initial AI-driven feature or ML model into production or pilot, showing early value and establish strong collaboration and clear operational goals with your team and stakeholders.

One Year: Deploy multiple AI models significantly improving products or operations, integrate generative AI and LLM-powered capabilities into Infoblox offerings, driving customer value, build a high-performing, respected data science team recognized across the organization and solidify your role as a strategic AI leader, continuously evolving our AI strategy.
