Overview
We are seeking an experienced Highway Design Project Manager to lead and manage highway design projects in Florida. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional who thrives in both technical and leadership capacities, with a passion for delivering innovative transportation solutions for clients. As a Highway Design Engineer with Modjeski and Masters, you will work on a variety of challenging and rewarding highway engineering projects for a myriad of transportation clients. We are one of the world's Leading Bridge Engineering Firms, with a reputation for technical excellence and innovation that goes beyond current standards.Established 130 years ago, our firm is responsible for the design and maintenance of some of our nation's most recognizable structures. Services include fixed and movable bridge design, inspection and rehabilitation, and all facets of life-cycle maintenance, research, and code development.

Level: Senior Engineer/Project Manager (15+years of related experience)
What You'll Do
- Pursue and win projects with FDOT and local agency clients.
- Prepare proposals and marketing presentations.
- Manage multiple projects and project teams within budget and schedule.
- Develop preliminary details using CAD software and provide information to CAD technicians and/or junior engineers for development of contract plans related to design work.
- Lead and manage the planning, design, and delivery of highway and roadway projects from concept through construction.
- Oversee and coordinate project teams, ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with design standards.
- Serve as the primary client contact, fostering strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for roadway geometric design, drainage, traffic control, and related highway design elements.
- Develop and monitor project scopes, budgets, and schedules; prepare proposals and cost estimates.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, promoting a culture of collaboration and growth.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and agencies to ensure project success
What We're Looking For
- Registered PE in the State of Florida
- Minimum of 15years' FDOT Experience and Highway specific projects experience
- A minimum of a BS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Highway/Transportation Design from an ABET accredited college or university
- Experience in pursuing and managing multi-discipline projects, including projects with bridge replacement, new bridge alignment, or bridge rehabilitation.
- Client Relationships with FDOT District Four and FDOT District Six.
- Proficient in MicroStation and Bentley Open Road Designer and a familiarity with AASHTO
- Ability to work in a team environment with a professional sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client needs.
- A strong work ethic with the ability to mentor junior engineers.
- Detail oriented with good oral and written communications skills and a fluency in English.
- knowledge of MicroStation's and Bentley Open Road Designer.
- Ability to work in a team environment on related projects.

- Develop preliminary details using CAD software and provide information to CAD technicians and/or junior engineers for development of contract plans related to design work.
- Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence.
- Perform and check quantity take-offs from contract plans.
- Review and check roadway and shop drawings.
