Job Description

Job Summary

The Instrument Test and Calibration Technician is responsible for the testing and calibration of analytical instruments, from initial setup to final verification and calibration. Daily tasks include visual inspection, functional tests, instrument troubleshooting, component(s) replacement and documentation creation to support the accurate build of our analytical instruments.

Key Characteristics

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, possesses troubleshooting skills and is attentive to detail. They will be able to see the efforts and quality of their work throughout the day through instruments worked- on and test reports.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and perform performance tests on newly assembled instruments from setup to final certification
  • Instrument setup onto work stations for performance testing
  • Final preparation of calibrated instruments for final shipment
  • Participate in quality root cause analysis for issues that arise and utilize technical knowledge of failures during calibration processes where applicable
  • Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Keep up to date with documented instructions/procedures pertaining to this position
    • Perform other duties as assigned management and/or lead
    • Observe and abide by all environmental, health, and safety rules, including housekeeping practices
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Familiarity with calibration and test procedures
  • Self-motivated, self-starter with attention to detail
  • Independent problem-solving ability
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and Windows OS
  • Communicate effectively

Education & Experience

Required:

  • Associate Degree in Chemistry or related field and 1 year of testing and calibration experience on technical equipment, OR

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years or more experience in testing, chemical instrumentation, analytical chemistry or other related work experience

  • Compensation - The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range:$22.00 - $27.00 USD
