Outreach Dietitian, Sports Medicine

Primary responsibilities include outreach activities consisting of nutrition counseling, education, and other related administrative duties to enhance the performance and overall health of the athletes we serve through our Sports Medicine Outreach program partnerships. Acting as a resource for their Outreach Athletic Trainer colleagues, this position will coordinate sports nutrition education for teams, community groups and specialty programs on optimal nutrition for performance and health; translating the latest scientific evidence into practical sports nutrition education; serving as a food and nutrition resource for coaches, other support staff, and parents. This position will support the Sports Nutrition team in the providing of nutritional care to patients which may include screening, nutrition assessment and care plan development, ongoing nutrition intervention, nutrition counseling and diet education according to department and medical center policies and procedures, along with maintaining professional competency and skills required for professional practice. The Outreach Dietitian will also be responsible for coordinating referrals to appropriate services, as directed by the Team Physician, to ensure timely delivery of quality, comprehensive care.
