Dematic Corporation is now hiring for a Regional Field Service Technician. Under the direction of the Field Service Manager, this position provides service and repair as well as service and maintenance training for installed Dematic systems and equipment. This person will need to be highly knowledgable of Control devices, such as Programmable Logic Contollers (PLC), scanners, and scales. As the Dematic representative in the Customer's facility, this position has a heavy responsibility for maintaining customer goodwill toward Dematic. Primary objective is to ensure that Dematic systems have the greatest availability possible for Customer use and to ensure that Customers are satisfied with their Dematic system and equipment. This role can be based anywhere throughout North America, preferably by nearby airport for travel. What we offer:

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $33.00 to $37.50 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What You Will Do In This Role:

  • Participate in semi-complex equipment trial runs, investigative tests, repairs, and overhauls.
  • Train customers on semi-complex products and services to ensure flawless operation.
  • Perform semi-complex maintenance on tools and test equipment, maintaining detailed documentation of all inspections, maintenance, repair work, and failures.
  • Respond to semi-complex service calls, ensuring quick and efficient resolution.
  • Assess semi-complex product/equipment performance based on field support data and recommend modifications or improvements.
  • Perform semi-complex technical or paraprofessional work.
  • Identify and tackle problems as they occur, referring sophisticated or unusual issues to others when necessary.
What We Are Looking For:
  • Trade school graduate or equivalent experience in a mechanical, electrical, or mechanical technician program. An Engineering Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience solving issues with electromechanical and/or mechanical equipment, including material handling equipment. Experience with Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGV), Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS), or conveyors is highly prized.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice and spend over 80% of the time traveling, potentially being continuously away from home for up to a month. Travel expenses are covered.
  • Availability to work during off-hours, including weekends, holidays, and off shifts.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
  • Proficiency in writing concise, clear, and complete trip reports in the required timeframe according to Dematic procedures.
  • Knowledge of personal computers for word processing, database functions, and communications.
  • Experience in fixing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is vital.
