Director of Imaging

Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for providing leadership and knowledge in all hospital and clinic processes, construction, equipment installation, and clinical operations that involve Imaging Services. Ensures that Imaging Technologists and Coordinators are highly trained and provide quality data and images for our Radiologists to use to provide superior patient dictations. Work closely and in collaboration with out Radiologist group to provide a seamless experience for our patients.

Job Functions

1. Provides leadership and oversight of all Imaging operations, programs and services within the department. Develops programs, goals and objectives consistent with those of the organizations overall strategic plan and initiatives.
2. Develops operational and capital budgets, manages operating expenses and key indicators within the budget. Develops, implements, coordinates, monitors, evaluates and integrates Imaging services that contribute to the overall success and financial viability of Imaging services. Uses creativity in the delivery of services and products in a highly competitive market.
3. Plans, supports and leads quality improvement efforts consistent with RMC process improvement methods for relevant Imaging services in alignment with organizational goals.
4. Manages staff resources by overseeing the recruiting, selecting, hiring and orienting qualified individuals. Evaluates staff performance in an accurate, consistent, objective and timely manner. Develops core position hiring strategies and ensures opportunities for professional development. Creates a cohesive Imaging department committed to providing distributive, clinical and service quality to all customers.
5. Develops and monitors applicable policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agency standards. (Clinical Only) Accurately and completely documents patient assessment data and clinical interventions.
6. May participate on hospital and medical staff committees and serve as a professional resource for physicians, clinicians and leadership. May also collaborate with physicians and clinicians regarding Imaging programs and services. May represent Imaging and Ridgeview Medical Center in community outreach including participation on committees and doing presentations.
7. Build and maintain a working relationship with all contracted organizations for administrative requirements and supervision.
8. Performs other duties assigned.

Minimum Education/Work Experience

• Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree with leadership education and experience
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience with progressive managing responsibilities

• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop team
• Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
• Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
• Excellent communication and influencing skills and ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
• Assures excellent service with a high degree of urgency to internal and external customers
• Systemic thinking when contemplating and implementing change
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
• Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Previous healthcare related experience
