Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery

Job Description

The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Missouri is pleased to announce an opening for a Clinical Research Nurse to join our growing and dynamic research team. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of advancing treatments and care in otolaryngology through active participation in clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients and/or potential candidates for research studies based on inclusion/exclusion criteria.
  • Recruit and enroll patients in clinical trials, ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct clinical trial visits in accordance with study protocols and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Collect, record, and maintain accurate study data for analysis and reporting.
  • Serve as Primary Study Coordinator for 4-5 clinical trials, including:
    o Training and educating participants
    o Scheduling study visits
    o Conducting protocol visits
    o Entering study data
    o Preparing for and hosting monitoring visit.
  • Act as Backup Study Coordinator for additional trials as needed.
  • Perform clinical procedures for trials including:
    o Blood draws
    o Allergy testing
    o Investigational product (IP) injection and dosing
  • Manage and reconcile lab kits and study-related supplies.
  • Assist with regulatory requirements, including preparation and submission of documents to:
    o Institutional Review Board (IRB)
    o Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
    o Study sponsors and clinical trial systems

Shift

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing School or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be obtained is necessary.
Possession of a license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri is necessary.
Minimum of two years of recent nursing experience in a hospital, clinic, or similar health care setting is required.

Preferred Qualifications

* BLS certification
* Prior experience in a clinical or research setting is desirable

Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Highly organized and detail-oriented
* Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently
* Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Previous experience in clinical research and patient care preferred
* Must be comfortable performing clinical procedures and handling sensitive data

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $75,275 - $85,000 annually
Grade: PAT - RN4
