Job Description

Are you a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a passion for supporting academic excellence? The department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is hiring a Business Support Specialist II.

In this role, you'll provide critical support to all academic programs - helping faculty and students daily. This is an opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a meaningful impact through strong financial, administrative, and operational support.

Key responsibilities include:
* Manage Graduate Students for assigned departments - New Applications, maintain files, program of study forms, obtain/update exit information, arrange/attend DGS Meetings
* Promotion and tenure tracking for eligible faculty members
* Assist Human Resources in managing undergraduate and Graduate Student Employees using a working knowledge of the PeopleSoft tools
* Attend faculty meetings and assist with minutes, organizational needs for meetings
* Primary contact for administrative needs and requests of EECS
* Assist Fiscal Manager in verification of financial statements and reports
* Compile and organize data for reporting purposes
* Coordinate and plan departmental events and functions
* Create itineraries for faculty hiring
* Help support the faculty with course evaluations and textbook adoptions
* Understands how tasks/activities relate to others on the team and how the team integrates with other related, similar teams
* Organizes and completes structured assignments according to priorities
* Recognizes and solves typical problems that occur in own work area without supervisory approval
* Evaluates and selects solutions from established options/procedures
* Impacts own team through the quality of the services or information provided
* Communicates through the regular exchange of information
* Other duties as assigned

Shift

Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

An Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of University policies and procedures, as well as PeopleSoft skills including HR and Fiscal. Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Working knowledge of myZou and Canvas.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $17.05 - $23.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
