Overview
Coordinates scheduling of CBMC and CBOC Outpatient Lab procedures with the patients. Functions as a resource for internal and external customers to assist with all scheduling and lab ordering processes. Oversees and handles assigned Lab Work Queues. Supports administrative needs of Lab director, manager, and departments. Qualifications Certifications: , Education: , Work Experience: Responsibilities Work within the Epic scheduling system to provide customer with timely, courteous, and proficient scheduling of procedures for Laboratory Services at CBMC and CBOC. Proficient in Epic Registration processes. Organize and complete patient orders and reading/deciphering information from physician orders to assist with patient scheduling. Proactively manage lab procedure requests/orders within EPIC workques and fax management system to ensure prompt scheduling of procedures. When necessary, provide exceptional communication and follow up to patients and ordering providers. Oversees Lab Work Queues. Working them daily to keep them to minimum levels with appropriate follow-up with leaders when issues arise. Prepare and ensures that all necessary information for upcoming lab procedures is present. Works with physician offices on Pre-Authorization needs prior to patient arrival. Medical record management, including: preparation of patient charts, uploading of imaging, enter and compile data, update patient information, update insurance and guarantor information. Proactively identify potential problems with procedures that are missing information and discrepancies in procedure needs/requirements Communicate pertinent information regarding procedures to appropriate lab personnel. Provides support for Lab departmental operations and functions when needed. Files lab orders in Healthware as time allows. Proactively identifying potential problems with lab orders that are missing information or other issues that can be resolved prior to scheduling. Follow-up with physician offices when appropriate. Working with Lab Leadership to implement Epic enhancements to simplify and optimize processes. Competently performs other secretarial duties as requested. Works autonomously and efficiently with minimal direction. Functions as a trainer for new and existing staff. Scheduling and registration duties for lab appointments within Epic. Operational Support to lab. Oversees and handles Lab Work Queues. Filing lab orders, reviewing for completeness and following up with physician offices when necessary. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $18.19per hour - $29.47per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
