We are seeking a seasoned and motivated Weapon System Applications Integration Analyst to oversee the development, deployment, and support of critical weapon system applications. This role requires strong technical leadership, deep knowledge of enterprise application architecture, and the ability to mentor development teams while collaborating cross-functionally with business stakeholders, analysts, and project managers.

As a Weapon System Applications Integration Analyst you will...

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing application solutions.
  • Collaborate with software users to gather requirements, and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Plan for incorporation into future software updates and maintain various software documentation artifacts.
  • Identify areas to test software applications prior to deployment and engage with staff to support testing and software developers to resolve identified software issues.
  • Support software testing of Strategic Weapons System data processing and distribution software applications using automated and manual testing methods.
  • Have opportunities to engage in independent research projects that encourage creative solutions and reward initiative, particularly in the area of improving the security in handling sensitive military data.
  • Develop knowledge supporting processing and analyzing US/UK Trident Strategic Weapon System and in-flight Telemetry data to help inform decisions on improving the security of SSBN Trident data offload and distribution.
  • Maintain knowledge of advancing encryption standards technologies and inform Strategic Systems Programs community on opportunities to integrate new technologies for improved data offload and distribution.
  • Collaborate with application developers to ensure reliable and accurate distribution of weapon systems data to sponsor/contractor organizations while continuously improving existing software (includes specifying requirements, prioritizing enhancements, and supporting special studies).

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Possess a BS degree in related technical discipline (information science, computer science, data science, database management, software engineering); or a BS in another field and a combination of 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Display excellent interpersonal, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong, independent skills for investigating and resolving problems.
  • Knowledge of security practices associated with handling classified materials.
  • Are willing and able to perform work in classified closed areas and support occasional travel (1-2 times per year) to support attended deliveries or flight test operations.
  • Are able to obtain Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

  • Possess an MS in related technical discipline (computer science, information science, data science, database management, software engineering) or a BS degree in another discipline and a combination of 10+ years of relevant experience, as defined above.
  • Have knowledge of security practices associated with handling classified materials.
  • Have project management experience (technical team or project).
  • Hold an active Top Secret security clearance.

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development.
