Description

Purpose and Scope

Under supervision, performs a variety of laboratory tasks including glassware maintenance, stocking laboratory supplies and documentation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities



  • Responsible for washing and drying glassware, keeping it organized and distributing to appropriate locations within the Development laboratory.
  • Accountable for documenting all activities and maintaining records according to good documentation practices.
  • May sterilize glassware and other items using an autoclave.
  • Perform limited troubleshooting and calibration of equipment.
  • Follow all procedures applicable to job function to ensure high quality of work.
  • Prioritize and complete tasks on time and perform job duties with guidance from management in an efficient manner and is a productive member of the department.
  • Accountable for maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork, cordiality and respect towards co-workers.
  • Identify issues and escalate those issues to the department senior leadership or management, as appropriate.
  • Assist with Laboratory inventory of supplies and samples.
  • Participate in required annual hazardous waste training. Hazardous waste involvement may include but is not limited to container and tank management and inspections, generation of hazardous waste as a part of production or sampling processes and transfer of hazardous waste between lab procedure area, satellite accumulation and storage. Respond to spills per the Chemical Spill Procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities



  • Knowledge of quality expectations and cGMP concepts.
  • Knowledge of laboratory science principles.
  • Ability read, understand, and follow work instructions and laboratory test methods.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read and understand policies, procedures and work instructions.

Education & Experience



  • High school diploma or GED required, Associates or Bachelor's Degree in scientific discipline preferred.
  • Recent laboratory experience preferred.


Working Conditions



  • Laboratory environment. Will be working with detergents, hot water, dilute acids and bases, drug products, cleaners and solvents, bio-hazardous materials, and hazardous waste.


Compensation and Benefits



  • Pay Range: $18.00 to $18.50 per hour
