The successful candidate will join an expanding group of passionate, collaborative, dedicated academic pediatric gastroenterologists and hepatologists in a Pediatric GI/Hepatology/Nutrition program ranked #1 in the nation for two years running by U.S. News and World Report, at one of the top 10 Children's Hospitals in the United States (https://www.childrenscolorado.org/doctors-and-departments/departments/digestive-health/). The Section is currently composed of 36 MD and 4 PhD faculty members, 10 fellows in an NIH T32-funded Pediatric GI training program, 11 Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistants, and a large team of nurses, dieticians, social workers, psychologists, transplant coordinators and support staff with the common mission of improving the digestive health of children. Highest quality patient care, cutting-edge research and career development and training are all of highest priority. The Section includes specific Centers or Programs in pediatric liver disease and transplantation, inflammatory bowel disease, eosinophilic GI diseases, celiac disease, intestinal rehabilitation, aerodigestive disorders, neurogastroenterology and motility, pancreatic disorders, gastrointestinal polyposis and advanced therapeutic endoscopy. Key Responsibilities: The candidate will provide oversight and care of patients with asthma, food allergy, allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis, atopic dermatitis, drug allergy, animal dander sensitivity, insect sting allergy, urticaria, angioedema, anaphylaxis, and immunodeficiencies in inpatient and outpatient settings. This will include oversight of food challenges, drug challenges, and providing allergen immunotherapy. These services will be performed at the main campus of Children's Hospital Colorado and at Network of Care locations. The candidate will participate in call coverage for the Allergy & Immunology Section, including inpatient consultations. The candidate will also participate in the teaching of fellows and residents assigned to her/his clinic and service rotations.

Qualifications:
|
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Assistant Professor:
- Successful completion of a pediatric residency and an Allergy and Immunology Fellowship.
- Recognized as Board Certified/Eligible by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.
- State of Colorado Medical license and DEA license must be obtained on or before the hire date.
Condition of Employment:
- Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
- Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

If drug testing is required, it will be listed in the job posting. Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the evaluation and management of patients with food allergy, including performing food challenges
- Experience with clinical research and patient management of emerging food allergy immunotherapies is preferred
- Experience in the evaluation and management of patients with eosinophilic GI disease is also preferred
- Experience in performing drug challenges
- Experience in prescribing and administering subcutaneous allergen immunotherapy
- Experience in teaching medical students and residents
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- The candidate should have the knowledge and ability to provide expert oversight and medical management of children with complex allergic disease who often have other significant medical issues.
- Excellent communication skills and teaching ability is also required.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: Assistant Professor: $ $187,979 to $ $200,174 The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
