experienced Human Resources Assistant, we would love to talk to you about joining our
Thomasville, AL team.

The Human Resources Assistant will provide administrative support to the HR Manager and serve as payroll clerk. Primary activities will include processing weekly payroll for hourly employees and performing various HR and Safety activities for the mill.

Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:

-Serve as payroll clerk. Process weekly hourly payroll, vacation requests, and pay rate changes. Maintain attendance records and employee files.

-Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy in HRIS systems.

-Prepare payroll reports for management.

-Proficiency in using digital time and attendance tracking systems.

-Assist with recruitment activities which includes posting job vacancies, reviewing job applications, scheduling job interviews, managing onboarding documents, and inputting new hire data.

-Help coordinate training sessions, employee events, and performance review processes.

-Coordinate onboarding and training sessions for new employees.

-Assist in the administration of employee programs: service awards, retirement programs, fitness programs, educational assistance, incentive programs, recognition luncheons, safety awards, etc.

-Assist with administering employee benefit programs. This includes advising employees on eligibility and other issues related to benefit coverage.

-Assist in managing the Sickness and Accident and leave administration.

-Maintain current knowledge of HR/Safety policies and practices and be prepared to respond to questions from managers and employees.

-Assist with safety and compliance records as needed.

-Coordinate meetings and event planning for the Mill.

-Manage employee uniform program. This includes ordering uniforms, reconciling invoices from vendor, processing order changes and cancelations, and payroll deductions.

-Order office supplies and handle coordination of mail.

-Other duties and projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration or related field
  • 5 to 7 years relevant experience
  • Positive attitude with excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Safety knowledge
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work with sensitive information
  • Experience in HR and Payroll
  • Experience dealing with vendors and employees

Preferred Experience

  • 3 to 4 years of HR, Payroll, Safety experience in a manufacturing environment
  • ADP Payroll and HR experience
  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

The base salary range for this position is $54,700
- $82,100. Actual base salary is based on the experience
and qualifications of the selected candidate.
