Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Salary: $42,000-$60,000 per year Shift: 1st, 2nd Hours: 7:00am-3:00pm; 3:00pm-1:00am QPS Employment Group has a great Maintenance Technician opportunity at a company in Rockford, IL. This is a direct hire, 1st and 2nd shift position. Maintenance Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Perform or assign preventative maintenance activities - Effectively manage work orders. - Respond to all "Line Down" calls. Diagnose and make repairs as appropriate. - Provide recommendations on modifications to increase efficiency. - Ability to act independently with minimal supervision - gets approval and asks for help when necessary. - Functions well in a demand/response environment. - Works on higher level/more complex repair or maintenance concerns. - Maintains safety standards in all activities. - Ability to weld - stick (arc), MiG and plastic. - Ability to operate a forklift. - Has a working knowledge of all production lines, processes and components. - Mid-career knowledge of electrical and plumbing processes. - Reads blueprints and schematics. Makes educated assumption where there is missing information. - Maintain and encourage 5-S methodology. - Complete special projects as assigned. - Understands full production process and inter-related systems. - Assist with fabrication or retrofitting machinery and equipment. Maintenance Technician Requirements: - Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills. - Works well independently and with others. - Good communication skills. - Organized with attention to detail. - Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment. - Ability to read blueprints, building plans, and repair manuals. - Ability to use hand tools and power tools. - Ability to follow instructions. - Excellent time management skills. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Thorough knowledge of more than one of the following areas: general plumbing, electrical, welding, repair, robotics, programming, plating, pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, or any other industrial maintenance area. - 3-5 years' experience in the facility or industrial maintenance environment. - High School diploma or equivalent. - Able to work in a fast-paced environment. - Forklift license. david.franz@qpsemployment.com About us: QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
