HX5 is currently seeking a qualified Software Applications Engineer in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract to work at Redstone Arsenal, in Huntsville, AL.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide primary support for the following applications:
  • CAFM (Java/Tomcat)
  • CDRLvue (Microsoft Visual Studio, ASPX, SQL database)
  • Escheduler (Microsoft Visual Studio, ASPX, SQL database)
  • Empower (Perl scripting, GUI, SQL database)
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS).
• Maintain and optimize Java and Tomcat environments.
• Develop and maintain SQL database backends.
• Implement and support Single Sign-On (SSO) with CAC authentication.
• Utilize and maintain Cloud Azure and AWS environments.
• Participate in late-night maintenance windows to support patching and system updates.
• De-conflict requests and requirements to ensure efficient problem resolution.

• Work independently with minimal supervision, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

• Must have 5, or more, years of direct Software Engineering experience
• Must have experience with Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS), including troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Must have experience with Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS), including troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Must have experience with Cloud Azure and AWS environments.
• Must have experience with Single Sign-On (SSO) with CAC authentication.
• Must have, or obtain within 3 months, a current DoD 8570 Level II Certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE or higher

• Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:

• Have programming experience with Visual Studio.

• Have programming experience with SQL database backends.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Fridayduring core business hours.

Other Position Requirements:

• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
• Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
• Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Must be able to travel, including air travel.
• Must have a valid Drivers License.
