HDR is currently seeking a Site Civil EIT to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) Group. Our team is an integrated facility and infrastructure design team consisting of core services of Mechanical, Electrical, Structural and Site Civil Engineering. This person will be responsible for developing high-quality civil designs in support of a wide range of markets, including Data Centers, Healthcare, Water/Wastewater, Municipal, Industrial, Federal, Mission Critical, and other infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in site development and the design of building-related civil elements such as grading, site layouts, utility design, and erosion control plans. The selected individual should be self-motivated, team-oriented, and detail-focused, with the initiative to deliver accurate civil drawings under the direction of senior engineers. Key Responsibilities In the role of Site Civil EIT, we'll count on you to:
- Assist senior engineers with site studies, site designs, contract documentation preparation and graphic presentation
- Perform overall site layout, grading, utility layout and drainage utilizing Civil 3D
- Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
- Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
- Interface with Jurisdictional Authorities conduct permitting reviews to complete due diligence research
- Develop concept site layouts that are compliant with Jurisdictional requirements
- Perform quantity calculations
- Prepare specifications and contract documents
- Perform administrative duties associated with project management for civil/site projects
- Work independently on small projects or assist senior engineers on larger projects
- Learn and understand HDR standards and procedures
- Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to thrive in a team environment
- Ability to handle multiple assignments
- Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D or other applications (Navisworks, Arc GIS, InfraWorks, MicroStation and OpenRoads)
- Strong knwlege of storm modling software such as Hydraflow Storm Sewers, Hydraflow Hydrographs, HydroCAD, StormCAD, SSA, Hecras, or similar software
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering
- Preference given to local candidates
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Have an advanced understanding of architectural/engineering documentation, plan presentation for the specific discipline designsite civil plans, and how it they interacts with other discipline models
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
