LOCATION:Huntsville, Alabama (on-site at Redstone)

JOB STATUS:Full-time

CLEARANCE: Secret


Astrion is seeking a Senior Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (CUAS) Model and Simulation & Systems Integration Engineer to lead the development, integration, and validation of CUAS technologies. This role involves leading and overseeing the development and implementation of the CUAS hardware integration lab (HWIL) and model and simulation (M&S) capability hosted in a government facility through close collaboration with and leading multidisciplinary teams to enhance national security.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a current Secret security clearance and able to obtain Top Secret (Active Top Secret clearance preferred)
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field
  • 15+ years experience with HWIL, M&S efforts and associated tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, C++, Python)
  • Expertise in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), systems architecting, architecture frameworks, and optimization of system performance using MOSA principals.
  • Expertise in rapid component/systems integration, performance analysis, and evaluating new and emerging technologies.
  • Familiarity with radar systems, RF modeling, and electronic warfare
  • Experience working in an integration lab environment, conducting hardware/software validation such as IV&V efforts.
  • Background in military or defense system integration

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and oversee the planning and implementation of all aspects of the HWIL and M&S capability in collaboration with AvMC team.
  • Lead trade studies, assessments, development and implement CUAS modeling and simulation tools to support system analysis and performance evaluation to include Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V).
  • Lead and oversee the system integration efforts, ensuring interoperability of CUAS technologies within real-world environments.
  • Support hardware and software integration in an HWIL engineering lab environment, validating system functionality and optimization
  • Oversee the analysis of performance data, refine CUAS system architecture and site layout, and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to align CUAS capabilities with operational requirements.
  • Stay informed on emerging threats and technological advancements in CUAS defense systems
