Psychiatrist - (JBTP) - Jails Location
US-NV-Reno ID
2025-22707
Overview NaphCare is partnering with the Washoe County Sheriff's Office to hire a Psychiatrist to join our THRIVE Jail Based Treatment Program (JBTP) that operates as a 30-bed adult specialized behavioral health unit at Washoe County Detention Facility in Reno, NV. The THRIVE Jail-Based Treatment Program (JBTP) is supported by the SNAMHS and funded through the NV-DHHS Division of Public and Behavioral Health to provide specialized behavioral health services for patients in jail awaiting transfer to a state hospital for further psychiatric treatment. The unit is a therapeutic environment, providing intensive day treatment services. By providing patient-centered, evidenced-based, and holistic care, the JBTP seeks to eliminate the need for these patients to transfer to the state hospital or, at a minimum, to decrease their length of stay once hospitalized. The ultimate aim is to assist defendants in moving forward with their legal case and with their lives in a healthier place. As a Psychiatrist, have you ever wanted to work somewhere where you can see real results from what you do? Where you are part of a true mental health professional team, well-supported by management, such that you know your patients quickly receive any medications they need, receive fast follow-up from providers and experience remarkable results? Would you like to work in a place that is secure and where most patients are very appreciative of your care? As a Correctional Psychiatrist, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide counseling and mental health care to the individuals in residence. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex mental health and medical needs. Responsibilities The Psychiatrist will enjoy flexible hours while maintaining overall clinical responsibility for the medication management of up to 15 adult patients in the THRIVE JBTP, including involuntary medication orders. The ideal candidate has experience (1) treating adults with serious mental illness, (2) working in a mental health and/or correctional setting, and (3) working within a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities may include but not be limited to:
