OVERVIEW:

Job Title: Project Engineer

Location: Southaven, MS | Memphis, TN

Job Type: Full-time

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, Saturdays dependent upon the Project Schedule

Performance Evaluated by: Superintendent and Director of Engineering and QC

• Work to ensure construction progresses as scheduled and contract specifications are adhered to.
• Layout / surveying
• Construction staking for vertical and horizontal construction
• Grade control
• Machine control
• Quality control and support of our safety plan

EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate's degree in civil engineering technology, Surveying, and/or Construction Management
• AutoCard, Civil 3D, and/or Carlson experience preferred but not required
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Computer software - Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel-based templates, and AutoCAD (preferred but not required)
• Should possess experience with surveying, construction staking, GPS, Total Station, machine control
• Experience with Topcon preferred
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings
• Graduate or equivalent military experience or Certificate of Completion for on-the-job training in the related field

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: *The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift in all weather and temperature extremes
• Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or push/pull up to 50 pounds
• Ability to climb up to 12ft
• Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and lift overhead, work at heights frequently throughout a 12-hour shift
• Walk and balance while working in rough terrain to access equipment, tools, materials, and job site to complete work
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time
• Use of hands to grasp and feel objects, tools, or controls
• Ability to frequently repeat the same movements with arms, hands, wrist, and fingers. (Use fine manipulation, frequently to constant traditional keyboarding)
• Ability to reach overhead, at or below the shoulder
• Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble small objects
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
• Hearing adequate to perform all tasks, understand the speech of another person, ability to focus on one source of sound and ignore others
• Speak clearly so listeners can understand

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Employee will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed to perform job tasks
• Employee is occasionally exposed to noise, dust, and various types of smells
• Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles.
• Employee must be able to properly use and handle toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Employee is occasionally exposed to wet, hot, and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, and outside weather conditions
• Employee is regularly working indoors, in an office setting
• Employee is regularly exposed to moderate noise levels
• Employee is expected to work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean work area
