Job Title: Administrative Assistant (GIS Experience)

Pay Rate: $30.00/hr. to $35.00 on W2 Without Benefits

Duration: 3+ months

Job Description:


  • The department is seeking a temporary data entry specialist to update the department's planning and zoning records viewable by the public through the Viewer Website. The website pulls information from a permitting, licensing, and code enforcement platform (application), in which relevant permits and legal documents can be attached to parcels. Through the platform, the contractor will verify that current attachments are correct and that any missing documents are correctly attached Countywide.


Equipment to be used by the temporary staffing professional(s)

  • PC/Cell Phone.


Computer software to be used

  • Permitting Software, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams.


Duties:

  • Attaching missing documents to respective parcels for each document type (resolution/permit/plat/plan, etc.).
  • Verifying existing attachments can be opened, downloaded, and pertain to existing parcels.


Desired Skills:

  • GIS software background preferred but not required.
  • Planning, zoning, or other government background preferred, but not required.


Required Skills:

  • Ability to perform data entry in an enterprise platform, including data verification, editing, and managing attachments.
  • Basic ability to identify properties on maps.
  • Ability to use Excel for progress reporting and management.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a folder with rezoning resolutions organized by year and dating back to 1969.
  • The resolutions list the originating parcels subject to the rezoning, as well as approximate physical extents.
  • Maintain a zoning feature class, which can be used for quick reference to affected parcels.
  • If the parcels are part of a named subdivision, the County also maintains a separate subdivision layer, which can also be used to identify affected parcels.
  • Conditional use permits.
  • Maintain a folder with conditional use permits (CUPs) organized by year and dating back to 1969.


Time permitting, the contractor may also be asked to verify that the following records are searchable as well:

  • Maintain separate folders for minor and major subdivision resolutions, organized by name.
  • If the parcels are part of a named subdivision, the County also maintains a separate subdivision layer, which can also be used to identify affected parcels.
  • Maintain a GIS layer with recorded easements.
