The US Oncology Network is looking for a Director of Talent Management, Learning, and Leader Development to join our team at Texas Oncology.

Responsibilities

The Director, Talent Management, Learning & Leadership Development is a once-in-a-career opportunity to shape the future of Texas Oncology by building a culture where every employee and physician feels valued, developed, and ready to lead.

This leadership role is responsible for designing and implementing enterprise-wide talent strategies that align with Texas Oncology's mission to provide high-quality, compassionate cancer care. The Director will drive initiatives that enhance employee and physician experience, strengthen leadership capabilities, and build a future-ready talent pipeline. By integrating our values of compassion, collaboration, and excellence into all talent and learning programs, this leader will ensure the organization attracts, develops, and retains top talent while fostering a culture of engagement, growth, and high performance.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Anchor Everything to Our Mission and Culture
  • Design leadership development programs that reflect Texas Oncology's values and patient-centered mission.
  • Embed cultural competencies into performance reviews, succession planning, and learning programs.
  • Reinforce our commitment to clinical excellence and compassionate care through all talent initiatives.
  1. Build a Leadership Pipeline That's Future-Ready
  • Define core competencies for leadership at all levels, aligned with healthcare delivery and operational excellence.
  • Design and execute effective succession planning processes to identify and cultivate high-potential employees, ensuring leadership continuity and organizational resilience
  • Track promotion rates, retention of high-potential talent, and bench strength for critical roles.
  1. Elevate the Employee and Physician Experience
  • Lead the end-to-end strategy for employee engagement, performance management, and retention.
  • Oversee physician wellness and development programs in partnership with the Sr. Manager, Physician Experience.
  • Use pulse surveys and feedback loops to inform action planning and continuous improvement.
  1. Scale Learning and Development
  • Build a tiered leadership curriculum for people leaders and clinical managers.
  • Deliver blended learning solutions that combine in-person workshops, e-learning, and on-the-job development.
  • Leverage LMS and digital platforms to create seamless, scalable learning experiences.
  1. Employee Experience & Engagement
  • Lead the end-to-end program management of employee engagement initiatives, including survey design, action planning, and retention strategies.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of performance management processes, including goal-setting, performance evaluations, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Ensure alignment of performance practices with Texas Oncology's values and leadership expectations.
  • Partner with HRBPs and operational leaders to embed engagement and performance insights into workforce planning and talent decisions.
  1. 6. Lead with Influence and Collaboration
  • Partner with HRBPs, clinical leaders, and executives to align talent strategies with business needs.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience in utilizing HR analytics to inform strategy and decision-making
  • Serve as a change champion, using storytelling and data to drive adoption of new initiatives.
  • Empower others by equipping leaders with tools and resources to implement talent routines effectively.
  1. 7. Develop a High-Performing Team
  • Provide strategic oversight to the Sr. Manager, Physician Experience, the Learning & Development Specialist, and the Performance & Engagement Specialist and a Learning Facilitator.
  • Set a clear vision and empower the team to deliver measurable impact.
  • Celebrate wins and track team performance through program outcomes and engagement metrics.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in talent management, learning and development, or organizational development.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, including managing high-performing teams and influencing senior leaders.
  • Proven success in designing and delivering enterprise-wide leadership development and engagement programs.
  • Experience in healthcare or physician engagement is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Certifications in leadership tools (e.g., DiSC, EQ, Hogan, 360 assessments) are preferred
  • WorkDay experience preferred

Working Conditions:

  • Travel - 30% - 50% (as needed)
  • Environment (Office, warehouse, etc.) - Office, clinical practice and travel
  • Physical Requirements (Lifting, standing, etc.) - Standard office and travel by air and auto
