Career Opportunity: Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada (CCCN) is seeking a Per Diem Advanced Practice Provider (APP) who works collaboratively with physicians, is responsible for providing comprehensive care and who demonstrates a high degree of clinical expertise in working with hospitalized patients with pulmonary conditions at local hospitals in the Las Vegas, NV area.
The APP provides care within his/her scope of practice as outlined by applicable state law, licensing, regulations, and institutional policy and practice agreements.
Scope: Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with pulmonary diagnosis. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, and management. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
- Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
- Performs procedures with minimal supervision.
- Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
- Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Often incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.
- Solid knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
- Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
- Case management for patients and their families.
- May promote/provide staff education
- Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals, weekend or after-hour calls
- May mentor new advanced practice providers
- May precept APP students
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: APRN:
- Successful completion of Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program
- Nationally certified as AGNP, ANP, FNP, AGNP, or GNP
- Active State of Nevada Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and Registered Nurse (RN) license
PA-C:
- Successful completion of a course of training in residence as a physician assistant approved by one of the following entities affiliated with the American Medical Association or its successor organization:
- The Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or is successor organization.
- The Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or is successor organization.
- The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program or its successor organization.
- The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistants or its successor organization.
- Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or its successor organization.
