SALARY RANGE: $ 136,000 - 170,000

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Systems Engineering Integration & Test Verification (SEIT) Lead is responsible for collaborating and directing systems engineering activities to develop, issue and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICD), Requirements Databases, and Requirements Verification Traceability Matrices (RVTM). The position is also responsible for ensuring timely and accurate flow-down of system and subsystem level requirements and directing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) activities. In this Systems Engineering (SE) role, the lead works closely with other engineers, Integrated Logistics Support & Test personnel and program management.
The SEIT Lead coordinates with Customers and internal stakeholders to execute requirements verification analyses and tests, report on compliance with stated and derived requirements and manage key interfaces to ensure adherence to requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for managing interfaces where data, power, or cooling is transferred between groups, whether internally or externally.Interfaces encountered will typically be engineering in nature, requiring a technical comprehension of potential problems.
  • Conduct coordination meetings, as necessary
  • Develop and maintain Requirements Databases that reflect stated and derived requirements
  • Develop and maintain Requirements Verification Matrices that reflect the methods used to verify requirements compliance
  • Lead System Requirements Reviews with Customers and Subcontractors
  • Develop and maintain documentation relating to the interface management and requirements verification process
  • Build and maintain a program/project interface register, including:
    • Parties involved in the interface
    • Action owners
    • Current status
    • Critical dates
  • Report on interface and requirements verification status, including issues which will impact performance (budget, schedule, quality)
    • Proactively develop solutions to issues identified
    • Maintain traceability for issues and status
    • Communicate risks to program management team
  • Build and maintain a Requirements Verification Traceability Matrix
    • Requirement source (stated, decomposed, derived)
    • Requirement detail
    • Verification Method
    • Verification status
  • Review subcontracts to ensure scope is clearly defined, including exclusions
  • Resolve conflicts with scope misalignment, gap, or overlap
  • Support CDRL development


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for Interface Controls and Requirements Verification group, potentially: 1-4 people

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information.
  • Experience with complex DoD programs required.
  • Familiarity with contracts, subcontracts, and technical specifications required
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage, mentor, and motive a team
  • Use of relevant software packages (e.g. MATLAB (desired), DOORS (desired), CAD (desired), MS EXCEL (required))
  • Must be able to hold a DoD SECRET level clearance


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Chemical Engineering or Naval Architecture required
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in heavy industrial environment, maritime/shipbuilding preferred


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS: None required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: On-Site
This position requires that the successful candidate work onsite 5 days per week. The person may be required to be in production areas at times. There may be local travel up to 10% of the time and out-of-town travel (including air travel) up to 5% of the time with notice.

CITIZENSHIP:Pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship.
