The Position
The Director of Site Security plays a critical role in overseeing security and safety programs across the expanding Oceanside Drug Substance Commercial Manufacturing site, ensuring alignment with Genentech and Roche corporate objectives. This includes a comprehensive approach to various security aspects such as crisis management, emergency response, investigations, physical security, personnel security, training, and business continuity. In the role you will independently determine methods and procedures for new solutions and influence successful program implementation by engaging with stakeholders and senior leadership. Will also evaluate, initiate, and execute policies to ensure compliance with security requirements and corporate standards, while overseeing department activities and projects. Moreover, you will supervise security contractor operations, providing strategic feedback and contributing to employment decisions. Responsible for budget management, staff development, and consistent policy application, the manager is pivotal in analyzing security processes and mitigating escalations. Collaborates cross-functionally to support robust security and business continuity programs and policies. Leads the development and implementation of security and emergency response plans. Leads & drives the Business Continuity Management (BCM) strategic and operational goals and adapts the program to evolving needs. Engages and educates customers on the value and mechanics of Business Continuity as a strategic imperative. Ensures compliance with regulatory and company requirements, leveraging best practices to manage risk. Manages site security operations, facilitates incident investigations, and oversees continuous improvement for compliance readiness and government interactions.

Who You Are
Bachelor's degree with 10+ years managerial experience and demonstrated leadership capabilities. Experience with Security and BCM programs, technologies and processes for continuous improvement (Agile and LEAN). Extensive knowledge and understanding of current and emerging physical security trends, risks, threats, countermeasures, vulnerabilities, and mitigations ranging across the spectrum from workplace violence to terrorism to loss prevention to behavioral challenges. In-depth knowledge of building security staffing models; developing post/patrol strategies; effectively applying security technologies; and coherently blending all program elements with tailored processes to effectively manage risk within a 24/7 manufacturing environment. A demonstrated willingness and ability to work effectively within a matrixed organization, managing and navigating competing priorities with professionalism and adaptability. Self-motivated, proactive, independent and responsive. Exceptional interpersonal, project management and prioritization skills. Pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience preferred.

Relocation benefits are available for this posting. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $139,800 - $259,600. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
