DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Custodial Worker 1, you will be responsible for custodial care and services in buildings, facilities, and grounds at Fort Indiantown Gap. Your duties will include performing deep cleaning procedures of offices, lobbies, and restrooms. This may require you to move and lift heavy furniture. You will be responsible for general cleaning duties such as mopping, scrubbing, waxing, polishing, dusting, sweeping, and buffing. In this position, you can expect to use and mix cleaning chemicals, empty waste containers, and restock supplies. Additionally, you will report repairs needed to the supervisor and maintain knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform repetitive motions: reaching, bending, lifting, stooping, kneeling, walking, climbing stairs and standing on hard surfaces.
  • You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
