Corrections Mail Inspector - SCI Dallas

As a Corrections Mail Inspector, you will be responsible for the proper handling of incoming and outgoing mail. Your duties will include opening and examining inmate letters and packages to prevent the transmission of contraband material. In this position, you will coordinate the delivery of items with various institutional entities like libraries and chapels. You can expect to deliver publications, magazines, and packages within SCI Dallas. Additionally, you will maintain a log of all inmate property sent to SCI Dallas's property office.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685.00 (before taxes).).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of clerical experience, including one year in the field of corrections; or
• Any combination of experience and/or training which provides the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Additional Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• You must possess a valid driver's license that is not under suspension.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
