POSITION SUMMARY:
The Production Area Cleaner/Servicer is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the production areas in a clean and orderly condition at all times, using manual and/or powered cleaning tools and equipment. This also includes performing those duties necessary to clean Individual Bulk Containers and drums in accordance with approved operating procedures.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cleans floors, walls, ceilings, windows, doors, and light fixtures in the production areas outside of the room where production functions are being performed.
  • Removes trash, debris, and waste materials to properly designated disposal areas.
  • Cleans and maintains clean conditions on stairwells, sinks, equipment, wash rooms, eye wash stations, and drinking fountains that are located in the assigned area of production.
  • Cleans Individual Bulk Containers by use of automated wash or manual wash.
  • Clean empty drum containers as necessary.
  • Performs other cleaning functions or duties as assigned by the area Production Supervision.
  • Cross-trains as required to perform as a "loan-out" in other departments (i.e. Packaging, Warehouse, Plastics Processing, or any other area resources are required).
  • Inspects and operates fork truck and floor scrubber.
  • Performs all documentation as required to meet cGMP standards.
  • Assist other department members with designated tasks as required (within training competencies) including batchmixers, tablet technicians, group leaders, etc. as assigned by Production Supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must have ability to understand cGMP's and Departmental Operating Procedures.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions, cGMP's and DOP's.
  • Ability to work and follow up on assignments with a minimum of direct supervision.
  • Above average physical stamina, ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate a fork truck.
  • Mobility to climb stairs and ladders using cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work on a raised platform if required.
  • Ability to work any shift and overtime.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • The employee is required to wear certain levels of personal protective equipment while performing certain tasks including but not limited to rubber boots, miscellaneous types of gowning, safety glasses, gloves, other head coverings, hard hats, etc.
  • The employee is occasionally required to wear respiratory protection, lift up to 100 pounds, wear fall protection equipment and operate powered industrial trucks.
