Full-stack engineers in our technology team function primary in support of surfacing information and functions to our users but regularly lean in across a variety of business functions and architecture components to build data services, develop user interfaces, and prototype new innovative technology functions. Engineers in this role will contribute and collaborate on integration efforts across open-source platforms that support configuration, automation, and internal user enablement.

In addition to the above, some specific success criteria in this role:

  • Show an understanding of the patterns expected in scalable software systems, with a desire to improve internal workflows and user-facing features through modern tooling

  • Maintain awareness of evolving technology standards and integration strategies that influence modular platform delivery.

  • Bring a solid basis of experience in building modern software products and demonstrate readiness to contribute to integrated solutions that support both users and internal teams

What you'll do...

  • Collaborate with product, architecture, and engineering peers to incorporate functional & non-functional requirements into scalable implementations using industrial-grade patterns and integration best practices.

  • Collaborate with platform and business stakeholders to extend platform capabilities via low-code tooling, open-source integrations, and well-defined APIs.

  • Participate in discovery and intake for new initiatives to evaluate feasibility, define constraints, and apply patterns for workflow and data service integration.

  • Develop software systems using modern frameworks and integration strategies to interface with internal and third-party platforms.

  • Participate in refinement of platform patterns, focusing on extensibility, self-service configuration, and integrated service boundaries.

  • Support engineering peers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing sessions, fostering continuous learning and professional growth.

  • Participate in planning ceremonies

About you...

  • 4+ years working hand-on in the implementation of moderate-to-large software systems as a software engineer

  • Experience with one or more client/server languages including Python, TypeScript/JavaScript and popular web SPA (React, Vue, Angular) and server frameworks/platforms (ex: Node.js, Nest.js, Express, other)

  • Experience in development of data access/API patterns (RESTful services, gRPC/tRPC, etc.)

  • Experience with non-functional enablers for scalable, resilient services (ex: front caching, read-through cache indexing, HTTP cache headers, etc.)

  • Experience in designing/developing systems with compliance/regulatory obligations (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC, ISO, FDA, etc.)

  • Familiarity of cloud-based platform hosting models and associated managed services usage (notable: Amazon Web Services)

  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and build pipelines (CI/CD), and deployment & release patterns

  • Familiarity with container orchestration tools (K8S, Docker, containerd, AWS-ECR, etc.)

  • Proven ability to quickly build proof-of-concept solutions to validate solution designs and experiment with emerging technologies.

  • Experience setting up architecture review processes/guardrails to maintain standards and consistency across multiple teams and projects.

In compliance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the annual salary [wage] range for NYC-based applicants is: $110,000 - $120,000. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. Progyny offers a total compensation package comprised of base salary, cash bonus, and equity.
