Key Responsibilities

Overview

As a Lead Field Engineer, you'll spearhead on-site implementation, maintenance, and technical leadership for High-End Systems (servers, storage, networking). Your role merges hands-on technical work, customer interaction, and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring smooth deployment and optimal performance of Dell's high-end enterprise solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution:

  • Plan and lead installation, configuration, and integration hardware and software at customer sites.
  • Serve as the principal contact for all hardware-related issues and escalations.

Technical Troubleshooting & Support:

  • Diagnose and repair server, storage, and network hardware failures, break-fix and resolving complex system-level issues.
  • Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements.

Customer Engagement & Communication:

  • Establish strong relationships with customer contacts.
  • Provide updates, escalate issues appropriately, and ensure satisfaction.

Documentation & Process Improvement:

  • Maintain accurate service records.
  • Review and improve work instructions, SOPs, and best practices

You will be successful in this role if you have:

Experience:

4-6+ years in field engineering or data center roles, preferably with Dell HES infrastructure.

Proven troubleshooting experience in server, storage, and networking hardware.

Technical Skills:

Expertise with Dell PowerEdge servers or similar servers, RAID controllers, SAN/NAS storage.

Networking knowledge.

Strong Linux/Unix administration

Certifications (Preferred but not required):Dell Certifications, CompTIA Network+/Server+.

Education: Associate's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.

Willingness to travel to client sites.
