Certified Surgical Assistant I Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center - Williamsburg, VA ~Part Time and Day shift~ 24 hours/week Up to $7,500 sign on bonus for qualified candidates! Overview The Certified Surgical Assistant anticipates the needs of the surgical team, the Surgical Assistant assists the surgeon with tasks such as selecting equipment, set up of various tables and positioning equipment, providing retraction for visualization of surgical site, cauterization of bleeding vessels, suturing and closure of incision, instillation of medications, application of surgical dressings, splints, and casts. In addition to intraoperative duties, the surgical assistant also performs preoperative and postoperative duties to better facilitate proper patient care. The surgical assistant uses effective interdisciplinary communication to facilitate optimal patient outcomes. Graduate of CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) accredited Surgical Assistant Program Surgical Assistant license required for appropriate state of practice Education TS - Trade School Graduate - Surgical Assistant Certification/Licensure Licensed Surgical Assistant - Virginia Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) - Certifications - National Commission for the Certification of Surgical Assistants (NCCSA) OR Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) - Certifications - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) Experience Operating room experience (preferred) Keywords: Surg Assist, CSFA, CSA, First Assistant, Surgical Assistant, Surgical Services, Surgical Tech, CST, OR, Surgery, Surgical Services, Operating Room, Surgical Technician, Monster, Talroo-Allied Health We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is:$32.13 - $53.55. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
