DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-
In this position the Clerical Assistant 2 will serve as clerical staff in the mailroom and will retrieve, sort, scan and distribute all incoming mail to specified areas of the Insurance Department. Daily courier duties of outgoing mail to CAB building, Commonwealth Central mail room, and the Department of Revenue. Additional special courier duties, as needed, stops at the House and Senate document rooms for pick-ups; as needed, delivery to the Legislative Reference Bureau; as needed runs for special delivery of materials from the CAB building to the Comptroller's office; emergency messenger runs upon request around the Capital area complex. Sends out items using contracted overnight services for the Bureau of Administration. Drives Commonwealth vehicle as needed to pick up/distribute department mail. Provides general office and clerical support to the Bureau of Administration upon request including but not limited to answering telephones, copying, document scanning and filing records.

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training
Other Requirements:

- This particular position requires that applicants possess a valid Class C Pennsylvania Driver's License.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
