As a Foodservice Buyer, you'll be a key player in keeping our inventory strong, our pricing sharp, and our supplier relationships thriving - all while ensuring the best possible experience for our customers. What You'll Do: Manage daily ordering to ensure optimal inventory levels Align purchasing decisions with sales forecasts and customer fill-rate targets Negotiate pricing, vendor programs, and promotions that drive profitability Monitor product life cycles, from new rollouts to discontinuations Actively reduce dead or overstock inventory Verify stock accuracy, product quality, and expiration dates Ensure timely delivery by coordinating with vendors and internal teams Reconcile invoices, request vendor credits, and manage freight rates Support the sales team with up-to-date product info, availability, and weekly hot sheets Maintain a high customer service level - because every order counts! What You Bring: 6+ years of purchasing experience in foodservice, food distribution, or commodities Strong understanding of buying best practices and supply chain operations Solid negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills Proficiency with desktop software and purchasing platforms Experience sourcing food products and understanding foodservice product specs High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree a plus) Detail-oriented, organized, and calm under pressure Tenacious, collaborative, and focused on results Why Honor Foods?
