Job Summary

Prepares the district's enrollment reports and manages the student information system. Coordinates computer technology to support student records, assignments and enrollment. Prepares written communication pertaining pupil counts and enrollment. Coordinate district-wide data quality efforts.

Qualifications

  • Position requires a master's degree in an educational field and administrative licenses from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (# 51) and (10).
  • Position requires previous experience as a high school programmer or assistant principal.
  • Position requires previous experience with Wisconsin Informational System for Education (WISE).
  • Position requires previous experience with Infinite Campus, Excel, and extensive data analysis.
Responsibilities

  • Maintains the student information system and coordinates daily/annual activities pertaining to the student database.
  • Maintains responsibility for data quality and Implementation of audit results.
  • Works with principals and other departments to determine record-keeping needs.
  • Prepares the district's official enrollment reports for September, January and May Pupil Counts, which include the Chapter 220 program, Open Enrollment and Special Education Services.
  • Prepares reports for Federal and State government organizations, Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, Milwaukee Public Schools' Board of School Directors, and administration.
  • Works with the Division of Technology related to the implementation of new systems involving student records. Updates and improves current systems.
  • Reviews and revises existing written communications to local schools resulting from changes in procedures, new technology and in-service programs.
  • Works with principals and other departments to determine necessary record-keeping requirements.
  • Collaborates with the Department of Public Instruction and the student information system vendor.
  • Monitors and maintains data quality for all reports and records, using the WISE data system.
  • Participates in and provides support for district in-service programs.
  • Serves as a member on various committees and task forces.
  • Trains schools, new and existing principals and programmers to ensure data integrity.
  • Actively supports the MPS Strategic Plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.
