Description

Position Summary: The Procurement Support Specialist will assist in procurement activities, including vendor selection, contract negotiations, and contract management. They ensure compliance with policies and procedures seek cost-saving opportunities and support successful project delivery.

Role and Responsibilities:



  • Support the procurement of services for capital construction projects and facility management programs in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions
  • Familiarize yourself with various construction delivery methods, such as traditional project delivery, construction management, integrated project delivery, design-build, and owner project management services
  • Prepare solicitation documents and manage the bid process
  • Evaluate bids and make recommendations for selection
  • Assist in the negotiations with selected participants for precontract
  • Generate detailed bid packages and ensure compliance with diversity program tracking
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities for both the organization and clients
  • Actively seek continuous improvement opportunities and embrace technological enhancements in procurement processes
  • Assist in the development of a pool of pre-qualified subcontractors and vendors in various office and project site locations
  • Maintain and update consultants, subcontractors, and vendor qualification database
  • Maintain client specific program database (diversification, preferred contractor, ISNET, etc.)
  • Maintain current pricing database from subcontractors
  • Follow up on bid packages with participating vendors and subcontractors, expressing appreciation for their participation and efforts
  • Perform other duties as required to support the procurement and project management teams

  • Follow plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers
  • Strict adherence to all safety rules and quality
  • Interact with all co-workers and clients in an attentive courteous manner
  • At times may perform clerical/administrative duties


Educational & Experience Requirements:



  • Associate's degree in related field
  • 0-2 years of experience in procurement or related field (i.e., estimating)
