Pay:

Visterra offers competitive pay commensurate with experience in a similar position. The range for this position is $60,000 to $90,000 annually, but actual compensation will vary depending upon new hire experience and qualifications as well as internal equity.

Role Overview:

The Construction Superintendent is responsible formanaging all enhancement work orders, including field crews, safety, job quality, and costs, including labor and materials costs. To succeed in this role, the Enhancement Superintendent will work to develop the various team members who report to them and improve the retention of Crew Members and Crew Leaders. The ideal candidate will increase the GM% of all enhancement work soldandbuild a great landscape construction team. The Construction Superintendent will maintain a partnership with all other management positions to see that the overall goals of the branch are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure team member safety by enforcing compliance with the Visterra Safety Program and overseeing proper maintenance of assigned vehicles and equipment.
  • Lead and coach field teams, providing direct support and performance evaluations to Crew Leaders and Crew Members, ensuring alignment with Dyna-Mist's values and operational goals.
  • Conduct and participate in training programs, including seasonal service training and cross-training initiatives to build bench strength and operational resilience.
  • Establish clear team expectations by setting measurable goals, providing consistent feedback, and holding individuals accountable for performance and conduct.
  • Foster professional growth by identifying individual strengths and development areas, supporting advancement within the company structure.
  • Supervise daily job site operations, ensuring adherence to schedules, quality standards, and customer expectations across enhancement projects.
  • Drive job site efficiency by communicating budgeted hours, monitoring performance, and proactively addressing cost and time overruns.
  • Collaborate with the Branch Manager to analyze field data and adjust team strategies to improve operational effectiveness and financial outcomes.
  • Manage material procurement for enhancement projects by sourcing high-quality products and negotiating favorable vendor pricing.
  • Uphold Dyna-Mist's philosophy and financial objectives through strong leadership, vendor relationship management, and alignment with branch-level goals.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI's):

  • Safety Compliance & Recognition: Ensure 100% team compliance with Visterra's Safety Program, including required certifications (OSHA 10, CPR, Greenius), while minimizing incidents and aiming for national safety recognition (NALP Safety Award).
  • Profitability (EBITDA): Improve job profitability by smart sourcing of materials, optimizing crew logistics, and ensuring labor efficiency across enhancement projects.
  • Quality & Client Satisfaction: Deliver high-quality enhancement work that aligns with client expectations and supports strong gross revenue performance.

Requirements:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) - Required, with preference for Spanish as a first language to effectively lead diverse crews.
  • 1+ years of hands-on landscaping or landscape construction experience - Including plant identification, irrigation systems, and hardscape installation.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead field teams - Experience overseeing 1-2 crews (5-10 workers), with strong leadership and accountability.
  • Working knowledge of landscape construction equipment and vehicles - Must meet company driver policy and possess a valid driver's license with a clean record.
  • Strong reporting and technology proficiency - Comfortable using MS Office; Aspire software experience is a plus.
  • Physically capable and dependable - Must demonstrate excellent attendance, punctuality, and the ability to work in varying outdoor conditions, including Saturdays as needed.

Superintendent Bonus Program:

  • Superintendents who have been with the company for at least 6 months are eligible for the bonus program
  • The bonus will be paid annually, typically in the first quarter of the following year
  • The bonus will be based on the company's performance in the following areas:
    1. Gross Revenue

  1. EBITDA - Buy jobs out better
    • 2025 Goal:
    • Payout: $2,500
  2. Safety
    • 2025 Goal: Win NALP Safety Award
    • Payout: $2,500
